2010 Official Rules & Regulations
This year’s program begins on September 1, 2010 and ends on October 15, 2010. Customers must present receipts to Guest Services from any store or restaurant at WestShore Plaza. Qualifying receipts MUST BE FROM a retailer at WestShore Plaza, on purchases made during the program period ONLY, and must be turned in by 9:00pm on October 15, 2010.
Any public or private K-12, elementary, middle, or high school in the state of Florida is eligible to participate. Pre-Schools, colleges and other post-high school institutions are not eligible.
Receipts may only be used one time and will be marked when presented to Guest Services. The receipt must be the original. Duplicate receipts, photo copies, faxes and internet orders will not be accepted.
Purchases of strollers, bus passes, faxes and photo copies cannot be redeemed for points. Credit Card payments, even if made to a store at the mall, will not be accepted for points.
Store employees may not request, or copy, receipts from store customers in order to redeem them for points. Additionally, stores (or store employees) may not hold receipts to give to schools to redeem for points. Solicitation of stores by schools to hold receipts for such schools is prohibited.
Each dollar spent equals 1 point. Any less than $.50 will be rounded down to the nearest dollar, and anything equal to or greater than $.50 will be rounded up to the nearest dollar (Ex. $10.45 = 10 points and $10.56 = 11 points).
There are ways to earn additional points. They are as follows:
Purchases made on Mondays and Tuesdays will be worth double points. The receipts do not need to be submitted the same day as purchase. Receipt dates will be confirmed for point value.
Purchases of gift cards to WestShore Plaza will always be double points, including the fee(s). (Ex. $25 gift card + $2 fee = 54 points).
Following WestShore Plaza on Facebook and Twitter (WestShore Plaza’s Social Media sites) can turn receipts into double points.
- Shoppers may submit one Facebook and one Twitter printout. Limit 3 receipts per social media site. Print out must be submitted with receipts. Receipts must be same day receipts.
- Customer must present valid State issued ID at time of submission.
- Social Media pages must show shopper name and that they are following WestShore Plaza, all other information may be crossed off. All pages printed must be presented.
- Pages will be kept as property of WestShore Plaza during the promotion period to confirm single social media submissions. Pages will be destroyed after promotion period.
Children will be able to receive points for attending the Earning for Learning Event on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10:00am to 2:00 pm. Adults are not eligible to receive and/or redeem points from this event. Check back soon for the point breakdown at this event!

Points will be awarded for visiting the Florida Blue Center across from WestShore Plaza during the promotion period. Points will only be awarded to participants over the age of eighteen (18), State issued ID must be presented. Upon completion of any of the following, a Florida Blue employee will provide participant their voucher with point totals. Voucher must be submitted to WestShore Plaza Guest Services within seven (7) days of visit to the Florida Blue Center.
- Tour the Florida Blue Center - 100 points
- Receive a service at the Florida Blue Center - 200 points
- Attend the Weekly Wellness Event at the Florida Blue Center - 300 points
- Attend the Monthly Health Fairs at the Florida Blue Center - 400 points
- All Teachers and Blue Cross Blue Shield members will receive 50 additional points (teachers who are also Blue Cross Blue Shield members will receive the combined 100 points). To receive points, teachers and members will be required to show proof of status.
WestShore Plaza is accepting school supplies for the Salvation Army. School supplies must be new and in original packaging when applicable. Donated items do not need to be purchased from WestShore Plaza. To receive full point values, donated items must be submitted to Guest Services between September 1, 2010 and October 15, 2010. Participants may donate multiple bundles. Each bundle of school supplies donated will be valued at 20 points. Bundles must be submitted in the following groups, variations from these groups will not receive points
Bundle 1: Spiral notebooks, Five 2-pocket folders, Pack of glue sticks, Box of 24 crayons
Bundle 2: Loose-leaf notebook paper, Pack of No. 2 pencils, Anti-bacterial wipes
Bundle 3: Composition book, Pack of colored markers, Child-proof scissors,
The highest points per student ratio will determine the winning schools. The total number of points for each school is divided by the number of students enrolled in the school, and all schools regardless of size will start with a minimum student enrollment of 400. Enrollment numbers will be provided by the schools.
The in – mall tote board will be updated weekly with the leading schools according to points only, point per student ratio will not be calculated until the final week and will not be posted in the mall. Point totals are not public knowledge and will not be posted nor distributed upon request.
At the end of the promotion the top five (5) schools with the highest points per student ratio will win cash prizes:
First Place $10,000
Second Place $5,000
Third Place $2,500
Fourth Place $1,500
Fifth Place $1,000
WestShore Plaza Management Office will make the final decision regarding any dispute.
WestShore Plaza reserves the right to refuse suspicious or fraudulent receipts, or any receipt transactions breaking the above rules.
WestShore Plaza reserves the right to modify these rules at any time without notice.
